Blue-lidded bins - Fortnightly collection of Plastic Bottles & Cardboard
From 10 Mar 20 you can recycle:
Please put plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays, cartons, cans, aerosols, foil, paper and carboard into your blue-lidded bin. Unfortunately, we can’t collect black plastic and plastic films. To make more space and avoid contamination, please wash and squash your recycling and ensure all containers are empty and clean. From 10 Mar 20, you will be able to put more materials into your blue lidded bin:
-
plastic bottles
-
plastic pots (including yoghurt), tubs (such as margarine, ice cream) and trays (from products such as fruit, meat, vegetables)
-
cardboard
-
food and drink cartons (for example soup, milk, fruit juice)
-
shredded paper (placed inside an envelope or cardboard box)
-
tins and cans
-
clean foil
-
empty aerosols
-
paper (including brown paper, newspapers, magazines, directories, catalogues, envelopes)
No thanks
Black plastic and flower pots are not collected for recycling at the kerbside. However, you can take these items to Household Recycling Centres.
We do not currently recycle plastic film.
Black Boxes
Glass bottles, jars and textiles should go in the black box. Bottle and jar lids can be left on. Clean and dry textiles (clothes, pairs of shoes, curtains, sheets and blankets) should be bagged, tied and put in the black box. Please do not place textiles in black refuse sack. Wet or dirty textiles can’t be collected.
