SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH 1, SOUTH NEWTON
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all pedestrians in the interest of public safety:
Footpath 1, South Newton; from its junction with A36(T) in a westerly direction to its junction with C10 (Waterditchampton to Great Wishford Road).
To enable:
The necessary design, consent and erection of a new structure to replace unsafe footbridge that spans River Wylye.
Alternative Route:
Via A36 (footway) in a north westerly direction to its junction with South Newton Footpath No 3 (opposite St Andrews Church), South Newton Footpath No 3 in a westerly direction to join South Newton Footpath No 2, Footpath No 2 South to its junction with C10 (opposite sewage treatment plant), C10 in a southerly direction to its junction with Footpath 1 and vice versa.
The closure will be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works period.
This closure which follows an emergency notice, will come into effect on Friday 21st August 2009 and is anticipated the work will take 6 months to complete. The Order will have a maximum duration of 6 months.
